There are many agents that will list your home and wait for it to sell. When this happens, you can expect it to sit on the market with few showings and little chance of it getting sold. Listing a house at a price that is too high will result in it staying on the market for a longer period of time and you will either wind up lowering the price or the house not selling at all.
There are agents that will take a listing at the price you want to sell it for knowing that it is not likely to sell at that price and then 30 or 60 days later asking you to reduce the price. This is not working in your best interest! After all, you are looking to sell your house so you can move forward with the next step.
